‘Ghoomketu’ Star Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife Aaliya files for Divorce

One of Bollywood’s most talented actors, Nawazuddin Siddiqui who was in news recently because of his travel to hometown Budhana in U.P. amidst the lockdown, is in news again. Nawazuddin’s wife aaliya has filed for divorce and is seeking maintenance from him.

The couple has been married for over 10 years and is parents to daughter Shora and son Yaani Siddiqui together. Though Aaliya’s lawyer didn’t reveal many details as he deemed the details to be sensitive in nature, he revealed that his client had sent the legal notice on 7th May itself but due to the current given situation, she had also sent the actor a notice separately on 13th May.

Commenting on the filing of divorce, Aaliya said that the problems between Nawaz and her had started after one year of marriage. She tried to handle everything but things had escalated beyond repair.

She also alleged that though Nawaz did not raise hand on her, the constant shouting and fighting had become a norm and became unbearable for her. On his family’s role, Aaliya commented that the family tortured her mentally and physically during this period and Nawaz’s brother even beat her once. She also claimed that Nawaz has not been in contact with their children for 3-4 months. The children also don’t care about it that much.

Aaliya has also changed her name to Anjana Prakash Pandey which was her original name before marrying Nawaz. This is the second marriage of Nawazuddin who has turned 46.

Meanwhile, Nawaz, who is in Budhana taking care of his sick mother has not replied to the notice. Aaliya’s lawyer has said that legal action will be taken if the actor fails to respond within the next fifteen days.

Ghoomketu Release Date

On the professional front, Nawazuddin starrer ‘Dhoomketu’ is all set to release on OTT platform ZEE5 this Eid on the 22nd of May, 2020.
