Jaipur is set to become the world’s 3rd cricket stadium. According to Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) secretary Mahendra Sharma, a cricket stadium with a seating capacity of 75,000 spectators will be built on the Rajasthan-Delhi highway.
Earlier, the Motera Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad became the largest cricket stadium. The stadium was used for Donald Trump’s program this year.
Stadium Construction can start in 4 Months
Sharma said that the stadium will be spread over an area of 100 acres. He said that the ground for the stadium has been finalized and it is 25 km from Jaipur. Construction work for the stadium is expected to begin in four months.
Apart from cricket, the stadium will also have facilities for indoor games and training. The stadium will have parking of 4,000 vehicles.
The stadium will be built at a cost of Rs 330 Crore
The stadium will have two practice grounds which will be used for Ranji matches. There will be 30 practice nets for the players and a press conference with a seating capacity of 250 people. Apart from this, there will be 2 restaurants for visitors.
100 crore will be provided by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to build the stadium. The BCCI already has 90 crore rupees of the association, then there will be a loan of Rs 100 crore and a corporate box of Rs 60 crore.
The stadium will be constructed in two Phases
The stadium is proposed to be built in two phases. In the first phase, only 45,000 people will be seated, while in the second phase 30,000 more seats will be added. The stadium is planned to be built within two years of the start of construction.
Mehta & Associates LLP and Delhi-based sports design consultancy firm GRAS will construct the stadium and they have made a presentation on the design of the stadium to RCA Chief and RCA President.
